Downpouring / Light-Carrier Theory (Butcher)
Darrell Butcher explained his motor-less instruments (including the Peggotty) by a constantly descending energy — 'the Downpouring' — made usable through the laws of light: a black-and-white pattern (pegs on a white board) reflects a transverse beam so that the rate pattern is carried by light to the witness.

No such downpouring energy is known to physics; the cited 19th-century 'transversal vibrations of the ether' belong to a superseded physical model. The theory survives as the design rationale of a charming instrument family rather than as a testable proposal; reported results carry the same operator-dependence as all radionic work.
