Radiational Hypothesis (Abrams)
Albert Abrams held that all matter radiates according to its molecular constitution, that every disease imprints a characteristic radiation on the body and blood, and that a trained operator — using percussion on a healthy 'reagent' subject wired to the specimen — can detect, differentiate, and with the oscilloclast cancel these disease radiations.

What it claims
- All matter radiates, with characteristics depending on its molecular constituents.
- Disease radiations can be detected and differentiated by a trained operator via percussion dullness and rheostat 'rates' in ohms (e.g. tuberculosis ≈42, syphilis ≈50).
- A blood specimen carries the patient's disease radiations and suffices for diagnosis and broadcast treatment at any distance.
- The oscilloclast, tuned to the disease rate, applies reversed-phase emanations that destroy or cancel the disease.
Proposed mechanism: Disease as altered electron vibration; diagnosis by resonance between specimen and reagent body; therapy by phase-reversed counter-radiation.
The mainstream view
The first premise (matter radiates) is trivially compatible with physics, but the operative claims failed every controlled examination: 1923-24 investigations found ERA diagnoses contradicted by blinded specimens (famously including animal blood diagnosed with human diseases), and no physical basis for ohm-valued disease 'rates' was ever demonstrated. Medicine classes ERA devices as quackery; reported successes are attributed to suggestion and the natural course of illness.
